Who?

I am a Registered dietitian with a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition & Dietetics, BSc (Hons) Hotel & Catering Management. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and my registration number is DT27923. I am also a full member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA). Membership number 11707. I have completed the Gastroenterology module from the MSc Advanced Dietetic Practice. My particular  interest is optimising health, and reducing adverse gastrointestinal symptoms through dietary therapies for conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Coeliac Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

For the last 8 years I have specialised in the area of Gastroenterology which has included working as the Clinical Lead, running the gastro dietetic service for Wirral University Teaching Hospital. I have also worked at Alder Hey Children's Hospital as a Specialist Gastro Paediatric Dietitian, within the gastroenterology team.

Prior to this, I trained and worked as a dietitian at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Salford Royal Hospital, where I ran general and bariatric weight management clinics, helping patients with a range of conditions including, type 2 Diabetes and obesity. I have held general dietetic clinics in a GP surgery, working with patients with cardiovascular and respiratory disease, diabetes, malnutrition and patients requiring enteral nutrition via tubes.

I currently work with patients from all different backgrounds and with a range of medical gastrointestinal conditions which include adults and paediatrics clients with;
  • ​​Coeliac disease,
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)​
  • liver disease (both non-alcohol and alcohol related including pre and post transplant),
  • pancreatic conditions (such as pancreatitis and cancer, including enzyme replacement),
  • oesophageal conditions (gastroparesis, reflux, eosinophilic esophagitis),
  • patients with ileostomies and colostomies to navigate dietary considerations and adverse symptoms
  • patients who are enterally fed via nasogastric, nasojejunal tubes, and gastrostomies (PEG/RIG).

​I am a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA), the BDA Gastroenterology subgroup, the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG)Parental and Enteral Nutrition Group (PENG), British Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN) and regularly attend professional development courses. I founded and chair the NW Gastro Dietitians Group which brings together all of the NHS dietitians in the Northwest to collaborate and share learning. I have a particular interest in functional gut disorders.

I work closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacists and consultants in the NHS and with your consent, I am happy to liase with your medical team.
